It has 2,140 square feet of flexible space with natural light, exclusive catering from Hank’s Seafood Restaurant with customized culinary offerings available, accommodates up to 120 seated guests, and is located in the prime setting of Charleston’s Historic District.

Old Wide Awake Plantation has been entertaining guests for more than 200 years. It began as a 24-hour convenience store for the Wide Awake Ferry that crossed to the island across the waterway. Imagine your guests pulling up to an extensive tree-lined entrance with the grand plantation home and its pristine glory awaiting at the end of the drive. Old Wide Awake Plantation is a truly unique and historic setting for any size celebration. Our wide wrap-around covered porch provides a welcoming outdoor space for seating or simply receiving. Seating areas are also available in the informal bar area inside the ivy-covered archways under the porch, as well as on our new outside 30’x70′ brushed travertine patio. Each space was meticulously designed to create a modern twist on a historic backdrop, from the custom-designed ornate tile flooring and lush plant wall in the courtyard entrance, to the sleek gold accents and second-story Parlour with adjoining piazza overlooking bustling King Street. This venue is ideal for guest counts of 150 or less.

From the inspiring surroundings and warm hospitality to the fabulous fare, Emeline provides an experience that will leave guests speechless. We will handle every aspect of a wedding or party with the grace and perfection of a true Southern host. With the lush garden accents, an inviting central fireplace, and intimate seating areas, The Courtyard is the ideal setting for making gatherings come to life. It is the ideal space for events up to 180 guests and the inviting seating areas can be incorporated into the design or removed to accommodate different configurations. The Greenhouse is a Charleston green covered atrium structure overlooking a focal brick fireplace punctuated by crystal chandeliers and surrounded by trellises covered in fragrant blooming jasmine. It is the perfect backdrop for receptions up to 100 people or dinners with up to 70 guests. For those seeking a more formal reception, dinner and dancing, Hayne Street Gallery is a lovely venue for up to 240 guests featuring a wall of windows sweeping with natural light, and the recently updated interior lends a fresh canvas for a variety of design and décor ideas. The private dining room at Frannie & The Fox, The Den, is a wonderful option for rehearsal dinners or farewell brunches or executive dinners for up to 40 guests. For larger receptions, it can also incorporate the al fresco dining area of the restaurant to offer both indoor and outdoor space.

Whether you are planning a large wedding or an intimate elopement, the Governor Thomas Bennett House is a beautiful, historic venue that encompasses all the charm historic Charleston has to offer. Our Crescent Garden is the perfect setting for your outdoor wedding ceremony around the pineapple fountain, under the shade of a 200 year old oak. Following the ceremony, guests are invited into the House for cocktail hour. The reception is held outdoors on the Side Lawn adjacent to the Crescent Garden. The bridal party and guests may enjoy full use of the home and gardens the day of the wedding. A Bridal Suite on the second floor and a Groom’s “Man Cave” on the ground floor provide the perfect space to prepare for your special day.

Circa 1798, The Gadsden House is listed on the National Historic Register + celebrated as one of the top 10 historic properties to preserve in Charleston.

Four grand parlor rooms boast original heart pine floors, impressive floor-to-ceiling windows, beautiful fireplaces, crystal chandeliers + neutral “paper white” walls, as well as a sound system + adaptive climate control.

The River Course clubhouse claims magnificent placement on an ancient bluff of large, live oaks between the Kiawah River and Bass Pond. Its original design, the work of Shope Reno Wharton, became a major influence on future architecture across the Island. When, in 2010, expansive renovations began, Member feedback dictated much of McKellar Associates’ updated design. The shingle-style structure was expanded and now includes a restaurant, bar, grill, lounging spaces, and a 4,500-square-foot ballroom. A cutting-edge fitness room and men’s and women’s locker facilities allow for easy transition between a round of golf and clubhouse cocktails with friends. The venue aptly serves to celebrate authentic spirit while great walls of windows overlooking the surrounding land and waterways ensure that nature, itself, is a guest at every gathering.
