Even though I find myself on airplanes for most of my weddings these days, I think I’ll always find the most comfort and familiarity with weddings on the Lowcountry marsh under those beautiful oaks. My couples tend to be sentimental, intentional and community-based individuals; they can’t imagine getting married without their crew by their side and a live band is the only way for them to dance the night away. Dinnertime and toasts are my favorite part of a wedding day-how rare is it that you get to have all the people you love, sitting in one place, exchanging and sharing stories about the couple that brought them all together. During the weekends that I’m not working, you’ll find me throwing dinner parties for friends, playing progressive rummy or devouring a new novel with a glass of red wine.
